This all-inclusive studio tool houses a unique tube-fueled preamp with a special Morph control. It also features an inductor-based EQ that delivers smooth, musical curve to enhance the natural timbres of instruments and vocals, infusing them with that elusive warmth, richness, and dimensionality. Additionally, the Tubestrip features an irresistibly vibey vari-mu compressor, providing program-dependent dynamic control and guaranteed to lend ear-grabbing cohesion to everything you run through it. You also get a transparent optical compressor, which doubles as a de-esser for invisible sibilance control. An indispensable Output knob rounds out this feature-laden channel strip, offering flexible gain-staging options. Drawing on the brand’s extensive engineering expertise, the Heritage Audio Tubestrip is tube-driven from input to output, bolstered by custom-made transformers and top-of-the-line inductors, delivering an evocative sound that’s guaranteed to elevate your recordings. 

Tube mic preamp with Morph modes

Touted as the “ultimate all-tube recording channel,” the Tubestrip houses a microphone preamp driven by carefully selected NOS tubes. The preamp features a 6-position Voltage Gain knob that delivers precise, repeatable gain settings in stepped increments. A dedicated Preamp Out knob provides an additional layer of gain-staging flexibility, ensuring your signal hits the downstream processing stages at exactly the right level. Perhaps the Tubestrip’s most distinctive preamp feature, however, is the unique Morph knob — a powerful control that grants you access to three distinct tube operating modes: Pentode, UL, and Triode. In Pentode mode, the preamp delivers higher gain with an open, forward, and energetic character, well-suited to sources that benefit from added presence and definition. UL mode offers a refined middle ground, an ultralinear blend of power and smoothness that works beautifully across a wide range of sources. Finally, Triode mode dials things back to pure, harmonic-laden sheen, yielding a lush, three-dimensional sound that flatters every source with effortless musicality.

EQ section includes three bands of tone shaping

Inductor-based equalizers are easily the industry’s most revered, and the Heritage Audio Tubestrip’s EQ nails the sonics and behavior of these legendary units. This characterful 3-band EQ injects your tracks with clarity, sheen, warmth, punch, and air using the classic curves that you’ve heard on countless studio recordings. The Treble band offers a ±10dB range; the Bass band includes ±10dB of simultaneous Boost and Cut with five selectable frequencies; and the Mid band includes ±10dB of selectable Boost or Cut with 10 selectable frequencies. No matter what you run through it, the Tubestrip’s EQ is guaranteed to make it sound its best.

Two compressors, one powerful dynamics section

The Tubestrip includes two dedicated compressors, delivering a versatile dynamics-processing tool kit that covers everything from smooth, vintage-flavored gain control to precise, surgical transparency. The NOS tube-driven vari-mu offers program-dependent dynamics control that breathes and responds organically to the natural ebb and flow of your signal, with Vari-mu Input, Attack, and Recovery knobs giving you precise command over drive and timing behavior, whether you're taming a punchy drum room, smoothing out a dynamic vocal, or adding cohesion to a full mix bus. The optical compressor, by contrast, is defined by its inherent transparency and graceful response, with an Opto Threshold knob to determine where compression begins and an Output knob to restore level with clean makeup gain. Additionally, the optical compressor doubles as a de-esser with a dedicated De-ess Frequency knob, transforming it into a highly effective sibilance-taming tool that targets problematic harshness with frequency-specific precision.
