The heart of the Kick Mic is its KC608 capsule, which sports a 17mm diaphragm inside a 40mm element and boasts the aforementioned rear-ventilated chamber. The KC608 capsule enables the Kick Mic to maintain a true cardioid polar pattern even as low as 50Hz. Lauten Audio's Air Coupling Modes are then employed to reduce the potential general muddiness that can occur due to low-frequency buildup so that the natural sound of your kick drum is well-represented. And, with a >142dB SPL handling, you can record even the most lead-footed of drummers with ease.

With the Kick Mic's integrated filter system, you can sculpt a fantastic kick drum sound directly from the mic itself. A switchable highpass filter at 80Hz/140Hz and a switchable lowpass filter at 5kHz/12kHz give you flexible options for both studio and stage.
